What kind of wood is used to produce the Finnlamelli timber?
Finnlamelli uses conifers, in particular fir and pine rees in the production of its timber. The logs we get from these trees are characterised by high quality.
The timber from fir is lighter and has finer knots. Timber from pine trees is darker and the knots are more pronounsed. This is why we advise our customers to base their choice on what is more visually appealing to them.
The conventional timber is produced from logs, acquiring a certain shape and sawing off the four edges, without any additional modifications. With the glued laminated timber, also known as glulam, first of all the logs are sawed off into boards of certain thickness and then turned into lamellas. After this, six lamellas are glued together so that the inner part of the log is turned into the outer part of the timber. As a result, glued timber acquires resilience and stability, as well as high heat insulation. Glulam does not usually form cracks and houses made of glued timber are not prone to shrinkage, thus reducing building times. Besides, glulam acts as a fantastic microclimate regulator thanks to its capacity to regulate humidity levels.
It is possible to use an individual planning project. The pricing will depend on whether you would like to base your project on a conventional, or a so-called template project, or whether you would like to build an entirely personalised solution. The pricing is more dependent on the area and the complexity of a given project.
Is it possible for us to provide our own timber for the building of a project Remus 130,5 m2 and what options do we have?
Glulam is produced from high quality raw materials and more importantly, from a certain part of a tree. The timber is dried, then delivered from a certain region, consequently, passing a strict quality controls. It would be difficult to establish, wether the timber originating from your woods are adequate for the production of raw materials. Our factories are based in Central Finland and our delivery processes are streamlined to the production, making thedelivery of your raw materials more challenging and less viable based on per-house calculations. However, we are willing to learn about your specific requirements, thus we advise to schedule an appointment to be able to come up with the most accurate price quotations for your individual glulalm project.
