Exterior solution

In external finish of a log house, basement, log walls, windows and doors with strips and sashes, soffits and roof all contribute to the general look. Harmonic details create a complete picture, giving us an idea of the taste of the people, inhabiting the house.
Plaster, finished with paint in a suitable colour, is usually used to finish basement. In the case of a basement floor or high basement on a slope, characterised by large relative share of stone area, natural stones or other covering materials are also a good solution. Here one should keep on mind that water drainage strip must be attached to the basement to discharge excessive moisture if the fitted covering material is thicker than 1 cm.
Either opaque or slightly transparent paints are used to finish door and window strips and soffits. These are divided into water, solvent or oil based paints, based on their transparency. Darker, well-covering solvent-based paints are considered to be better for external conditions while light, transparent shades are meant to be less resistant. Slightly transparent, mostly solvent-based paints with sufficient pigment content are used to paint the walls of Finnlamelli houses. We recommend using well-covering, opaque pain to finish the end boards of soffits and door and window strips, as these are most intensely affected by precipitation and UV-radiation.
The roof material also affects the looks of our homes. Finnlamelli mostly fits roof stones on the houses it builds. The choice of shape and colour range of stones is rather wide today and quite definitely, everyone will find something to match his/her taste. Tin roof can be fitted as an alternative, or waffle slabs or even natural materials, like reed, shingles or shavings, which are an ideal choice for the roof of a country house.
